One of my kids found an old Rubik's Cube and, after learning a bunch of solving algorithms, was able to solve the cube in about 2 minutes. Not only does the original cube squeak as you twist the it, if you don't have the sides lined up perfectly, the cube can get a little stuck and slow your speed.
Enter the Magnetic Speed Cube...
Because of the magnets, the sides snap into place. With the original cube it's easy to overshoot the corners.
The cube movements are much smoother and it doesn't squeak like the original cube. It still makes noise, it's just more of a soft "whoosh".
With the magnetic Rubik's Cube my kid was able to cut the solve time in half! -Ellie B.
