Seven hotels you can't miss in Alberta

We stayed at the Canalta for four nights during our honeymoon whilst we explored Banff. The Canalta is an absolutely gorgeous hotel, and great amenities for guests. We were slightly early when it came to check in, but we were met by the concierge who asked about our trip and gave us recommendations, not only for Banff, but for the rest of our trip too. The hotel has hot tubs, a cold-plunge pool, s’mores station, guest laundry and gym - breakfast was included in our rate and it was great with lots of options. As we were on honeymoon, we had a bottle of fizz in our room on arrival which was a lovely touch. We had a balcony which looked out onto the mountains, which was really nice to wake up to. The only thing I’d comment on which was slightly negative was that there wasn’t anywhere in the room to hang any clothes; no wardrobe or hooks / hangers, so everything had to sit in our case. But, we requested an iron / board so no big deal. Walk was about 20 minutes into Banff, just something to bare in mind - but no problem for us! All the staff were brilliant, too! - NicWetherell
It was our first time at Banff and it did not disappoint. Our room had a nice balcony view of a mountain where we had a morning coffee, the lodge was kind enough to gift us a bottle of bubbly, and although we didn't take advantage of the hot tubs, it seemed very inviting and they also had a s'more station for the fire pits. The hot breakfast was solid and the lodge itself was a 15 minute walk from downtown. There was plenty of free parking during the week at a nearby playground. The lodge was quiet at night and we got pretty good sleep compared to other hotels we've stayed at. The staff was kind and accommodating, it was a great stay. - RyanK3473
Friendly and accommodating.  The staff and property is amazing and as a solo female traveler I felt safe. The property is cozy and perfect for that mountain getaway.  Complimentary breakfast and nightly s'mores along with 2 outdoor hot tubs - lisanH1298NQ

Excellent stay! Staff was very courteous. Special shout out to Loveleen, Harsimar and Garima. They were awesome! I don’t think any other hotel in Calgary can provide 5 star facilities on cost of 3 star. Highly recommended! Thank you! - Amanika01
Stayed at the Riviera. The front desk worker Garima was very helpful and accommodating and was able to assist me with my needs. Highly recommend staying here. Room was cleaned and presentable just like in the pictures.  - 732jungj
