Staying overnight in a jail cell was such a unique experience. We stayed in a cell with bunk beds and it was surprisingly spacious for two people. The location is centrally located close to Byward Market, Parliament, and the shopping mall. The hostel also offers historical tours of the jail (join a walking haunted tour company if you'd like to learn about the ghost stories). Definitely would recommend staying here for the experience. Parking is an additional $12 cost. The hostel will be closed from November 1 to December 31 due to COVID. - CarloFrancoCANADA

My friend and I stayed two nights. The bunks in the cell we’re comfortable and clean, and had an outlet! The staff have been so welcoming, and the tour was really cool. Big shout out to Sean, working the front desk at night, he was super friendly and accommodating! - 877mychellem

This was by far the most unique, coolest hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms all have their own special touch, there's the fun of eating in the dining car, and a converted lounge, as well as a coffee shop, souvenir store, and bar at the station,  and an outdoor play area for young children. It was fun to explore and relax at. The town doesn't have a whole lot for a young family, but situated alongside the hotel is the TransCanada trail which makes for peaceful exploration  of the area. - 532christab

My husband and I stayed in car number5  on Sept 29. It was spot My husband and I stayed in caboose number 5 on September 29 the. Our room was perfect and decorated with period items but had all modern conveniences. The washroom was spotless and had wonderful thick towels. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed eating our snacks in the cupola. A walking trail right beside the track was a great place to wander in the evening and the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a sweet little gift shop on site. Would recommend as a must go to in Nova Scotia. - P8177QYlynns
