I had stayed here many times. First after a long weekend for Labor Day. Then for some birthdays, special occasions, and New Years. But a few weeks ago got married here. It was AMAZING. Our friends and family raved at how amazing the service, food, hotel, and just overall experience was. This is one of the nicest hotels in the WORLD. In fact it was my boss who has traveled the world that told me this was one of the best he has ever been to. So on that faithful day many ears ago I brought my then girlfriend there for a long weekend (to try and impress her of course). Who knew that 4 years later we would be getting married there. I highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to Chicago or if you want to celebrate your big day. Jennifer from the Peninsula will make sure it's an amazing and unforgettable day. - mjk6479
This is truly one of the best hotels in which I have stayed. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The Magnificent Mile suite has wonderful views and was a very nice size for 3 of us. Every attention to detail was made. All the business supplies, including a personal printer and fax machine was included. Large TVs and various lighting all controlled by IPad-like product. The large soaking tub even had a TV to watch and music could be played in the speakers in the bathroom. Felt safe. We ate breakfast in the hotel lobby. They had the same offerings every day. And we ate at Shanghai Terrace and that was very good. This was such a luxurious stay. We hope to return in December. - jppalooza
This is our at least 7th visit to The Peninsula Chicago. I have been so spoiled by each experience that I am always terrified that there is no way it can live up to my expectations. I just spent 5 nights there with my wife and our adult daughter and The Pen again exceeded all of my expectations. This hotel has it all. An unbelievable staff, a phenomenal location, 3 great restaurants, a terrific bar, and a fantastic fitness center/pool. Every time you interact w/a Peninsula staff member, you are greeted with someone who meets your gaze and wishes you a good morning/afternoon/evening. These folks are genuinely vested in your visit and consistently go beyond and above the call to ensure that all of your needs/wants are met. The staff, from the doorman to housekeeping to check in through room service are all professional, warm, unpretentious, and wonderful. On this visit, we had a wonderful experience in the Shanghai Terrace (the dim sum is utterly sublime) and a nightcap at Z Bar. I'm really picky and spoiled about hotels, but this place is in its own league.  From the great beds and pillows and HVAC and the incredible tech of the room (an iPad can control everything in the room) to the size and weight of the towels to the TV/radio in the bathrooms to the fast wi-fi and water that is set out for you each night, this is THE place you want to come home to. I cannot recommend any property, anywhere, with greater enthusiasm than I do the Chicago Peninsula. A special tip of the hat to The Hotel Manager, Vince Reyes, who assisted us on this fantastic visit. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you Chicago Peninsula. - hotelfan

I always try and find a bed and breakfast when I’m traveling. This place had such a laid back atmosphere the breakfast was amazing and the servers/cooks were really nice ladies ;) I’ll probably pick a different room next time since ours was a little small but it was an amazing stay and I’ll come back here when I come to Chicago! - Astro_Demon
This is our second visit staying at Ray's B&B in Bucktown.  Ray's is a short walk to our son's place and has officially become our "home away from home" in Chicago.   On this visit we stayed in the WEST ROOM under the kitchen.  It is a small oddly shaped room with the on suite bath down a very narrow hallway... but the layout worked out OK for two adults and two children.  Our girls loved the bunk beds and the queen bed was fine for the adults.  We hardly noticed any noise at all from the kitchen on the first floor.  Everyone slept very well - the West Room was warm and cozy on a few very cold Chicago nights. Once again Ray's breakfast delivered.  This is the first time for the girls and they loved having pancakes and eggs.  The eggs benedict was lovely and the omelets are HUGE. Bottom line... Ray's is great.  Ray's is great for couples and for families. Ray's is eclectic and unique. Go to Ray's!!!   We've tried two different rooms so far and will continue checking out a different room with each stay.  Can't wait for the weather to warm up; we will be back at Ray's in 2022.  I really need to get to see a Cubby Game... been way too long. For those who don't have a relative living nearby, you should definitely consider staying at Ray's B&B as your "base of operations" for  your Chicago visit.  Ray's is convenient to Wriggly Field, Downtown Chicago, and Lincoln Park.  You can walk to the BLUE LINE (O'Hare, Downtown).  There are great restaurants in the area.  A cab to Michigan Ave was only $15.  There is FREE street parking in the neighborhood. - 20chipr
