Are you planning a trip with your toddler? Check this article out for Spring Family Trip Tips & Tricks~
Spring is coming!
Combine work and rest during the trip 😎
Prepare well before the trip
When spring comes, parents always want to take their children out to enjoy the spring sunshine and take them to the greenery.
However, spring is a time when bacteria and viruses are active in recovery and the temperature is changing, so babies may not adapt to the climate and their resistance will be reduced.
Moms and dads need to take precautions to keep their babies healthy out there.
Choose child-friendly spots!
When you take your baby on a trip, unlike adult travel, you should choose interesting and child-friendly destinations, such as zoos, botanical gardens, and seashores, according to the characteristics of your own baby.
The itinerary should not be too close, to try to relax, too strenuous trips will make the child unwell, or even sick.
During the trip, you should try to arrange for your child to run and jump in some of the more open places, such as parks and squares, in order to stretch their muscles.
Psychological preparation
It is necessary for mom and dad to give their children psychological preparation for going out in advance.
You can describe the interesting things about the trip in advance, the places to be visited, found on the map to introduce to the children, there are pictures first for the introduction is better.
Make your child look forward to the trip.
Prepare food
Babies are always picky eaters, it is difficult to serve them at home, and they are even pickier when they travel.
When you travel, bring your baby food that is often eaten at home and is nutritious: milk powder, cookies, fruit, etc.
Prepare some pure fruit juice that children often drink, you can also wash the fruits and vegetables, cut them into small strips, small slices in the lunch box, with toothpicks for children to eat.
Organize your bag
Even for short trips, it is important to have all the essentials such as thermos, bottles, milk powder, supplemental food, diapers, etc. to ensure that your child eats as regularly as their do at home.
The thermos can not only ensure that the baby can drink hot water and hot milk at any time, but also prevent some babies with sensitive stomachs from having diarrhea due to changes in water quality.
Spring is rainy, so when you go out on foot, bring rain gear to prevent your baby from getting wet and catching a cold.
Bring one or two of your child's favorite toys, which can be used to relieve his boredom when sitting in the car for a long time. Bring along a jacket to keep warm and block the wind and rain.
Bring a variety of emergency medicine, mosquito repellent, etc. Bring the clothes you are used to wearing so that the environment has changed and is not likely to cause skin allergies in children.
Prepare gifts
Children usually feel bored after a long time on the trip. You can do some small activities and play some games with your child, and don't try to calm him down only after he has made a scene.
Prepare some gifts and give them to your child from time to time during the trip, or give them to your child when you arrive at certain places or attractions.
So that your child will have something to look forward to throughout the trip, and have fun and deepen his memory.
Rest and Adjustment
When you go on a spring trip, your baby will be more excited and exhilarated because of the contact with new things, and will refuse to sleep on time when you are having fun.
Infants and toddlers are an important period of growth and development, so it is very important to reasonably arrange rest time for your baby and combine work and rest to strengthen your baby's resistance.
Moms and dads should let their babies rest and sleep according to a reasonable rest time, if it is a full day of outdoor play, you can bring the stroller, and let the baby rest in the car nap at lunchtime, the baby's resistance is very helpful.
Prevention of motion sickness
For babies with motion sickness and seasickness, do not feed fried or high-fat food before taking the bus; try to avoid taking a sealed bus trip.
If you have to take a long trip by car, put a fresh ginger slice on your baby's belly button (fixed with a Band-Aid) 30 minutes before departure.
Or take motion sickness medicine as instructed; try to sit in the front seat next to the driver to reduce bumps; prepare a plastic bag, toilet paper, and water for your baby, and let their spit dirt in it.
When they vomit, rinse their mouth with water to eliminate bad odors and wipe the corners of the mouth.
Dietary issues
Take meals on time, avoid long intervals between meals, also prevent overeating, and do not eat too many snacks.
Bring some pre-prepared meals and dry food, including the child's favorite food, and drinks, and allow him to change the way he eats or the amount of food, do not be as strict as at home.
If you go to a restaurant, it's best to ask for a quick and easy meal because hungry children often don't have the patience to wait too long. Pay attention to food hygiene. In warm weather, avoid eating outside in the wind.
Defecation problems
You should also consider the disposal of your child's urine and stool in advance, and prepare more dry and wet tissues, garbage bags, diapers, replacement clothes, pants, etc.
Safety first
Remind your child not to reach out from the car window when riding in a car, and to fasten the seat belt when flying.
During the tour, parents should always pay attention to the baby's mood and condition, pay attention to whether the baby is hungry or tired, whether the body is comfortable, and pay attention to the child's health to prevent colds, diarrhea, or infection of other diseases.
After arriving at the destination, parents should do the necessary safety checks in the room. In crowded attractions, parents should watch their babies carefully and should not be too far away from them to avoid getting lost or falling.
It is a good idea to put an information card with the baby's name, parents' names, contact numbers, and hotel address in the baby's clothes pocket in case of emergency.
Also, teach your baby to remember the necessary information such as "call the police if you have a problem", "where is home", "what is the name of your parents", etc.
Pollen allergy
Children are likely to be congenitally allergic to pollen. Young children with a history of pollen allergies should choose to go on spring trips to parks with mainly trees and lawns, and not too large flower shows.
Weather conditions also have an impact on pollen dispersal. If the weather is clear after rain, there will be very few pollen particles, making it suitable for children with pollen allergies to go on trips.
Once you find that your child's face looks bad after smelling flowers, don't let your child stand in the flowers and take pictures.
You can immediately use a small cotton swab dipped in a small amount of pure water or warm water to clean your child's nostrils to prevent allergy symptoms from worsening.
Perks of Bringing Kids
There are many benefits of taking your baby on a trip in the spring
Exercise physical fitness
Taking your baby out for a trip, close contact with nature, and breathing fresh air, is a positive and effective way of physical exercise.
Letting your baby walk and run can improve lung capacity and can enhance muscle vitality.
Expanding knowledge
Travel can help babies perceive nature and ecology, get in touch with people and things other than their closest relatives, and expand their knowledge.
When you take your baby on a trip, you can point out the scenery for a proper explanation, so that your baby can make a leap to rational understanding while gaining perceptual knowledge.
The mastery of this knowledge may not be useful for the child to participate in intellectual competitions, but it will certainly help to improve his comprehension and transferability.
Improve self-care ability
Many parents are used to taking care of everything for their babies, on the grounds that they are too young.
It is recommended that when parents make preparations for a trip, they may want to involve their baby in the preparation. This will not only improve the baby's interest in traveling but also let the baby understand what essential supplies should be brought for the outing.
In addition, you can also cultivate a good habit of organizing the baby's belongings.

"Our stay at Marriott's was amazing, service was excellent. Friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms was immaculate, food was great. Room service was also excellent. "We decided to visit Asia Gardens to take advantage of our extended bank holiday for the queens jubilee in the UK and it didn’t disappoint.
I pre- booked a private car from Asia gardens to collect us at the airport, and although we were delayed by nearly 2 hours our driver was still there to collect us on arrival. This cost was 115 euros but worth every penny, greeted immediately with complimentary water and a 35 minute drive in an air conditioned car
We arrived quite late so checked in and got our head down to explore the grounds the following day. Asia gardens is in a microclimate so we enjoyed temperatures of 27+ each day
The grounds were well spaced out with a very calming relaxed feeling, although there were some children there this was well thought out with designated family and adult only areas
Breakfast was a vast buffet selection each morning and set us up for the day
Plenty of on resort restaurants to choose from for evening dinner, and piano champagne bars also secluded, tranquil setting with the option to head into Benidorm if you wish (around 15 mins and 15 euros in a cab)
Favourite evening meal had to be the Koh Samui - lovely food, and fantastic service, followed by drinks at the bonsai bar, great atmosphere and great service
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Asia Gardens and Ed have already recommended to our friends and family …. We will be back - thank you!"—darkswann
"Great accommodation, gardens, pools and staff. A very relaxing atmosphere all around. The buffet was good if a little similar every evening, but the Asian restaurant was excellent for variety. The staff were great and very helpful for advice.."—fribble1
"Our second stay here and it truly is a stunning place. The staff go above and beyond to help to make it a perfect experience. The food (albeit slightly pricey) has all been faultless and delicious, in each restaurant. The pools are amazing and even at capacity, still feels like there’s enough space to not be stifled. Bring mosquito spray, the place is very tropical, once sprayed, we had no issues :)"—Austinator182

"This is a very high class all inclusive. Food, drinks and especially service are all top notch and there’s no feeling of scrimping at all. The various pools are great, and the resort is really clean and well maintained. Even the entertainment, so often really ropey, was done well by talented people and lots of little touches for kids. Kids club was very professionally run and our son enjoyed it a lot. We enjoyed our trip to Malaga in the Tesla and also hired a car for a couple of additional days (from the desk in the resort). Loved cycling into Estapona and the guys at the sports centre were always really friendly and helpful.Spa treatments very good, if pricey.Very difficult to book restaurants which was frustrating, but a small niggle in a stay that was otherwise very niggle free."—viross5000

Impossible to recall all names, shout out to Carlos and his fantastic housekeeping team, Pilar in guest relations, every one of the restaurant serving teams. We will be back…thank you!

"This was our second visit to casa 1800 and yet again it did not disappoint.
We had 4 nights in a room with an outside area and private jacuzzi, where we had lovely views of the giralda, particularly at night where it was lit up.
Lovely pool area with chairs, sun loungers, towels are available from reception.
Fantastic location in the heart of the old city with so many bars and cafes on the doorstep.Lovely afternoon tea in the hotel daily which is a nice touch.
We cannot wait to visit again ❤️"—Becky P

"I can’t rave about this hotel enough. Probably stayed here 5-6 times. And it’s the best hotel in Europe. Not the cheapest BUT Quality costs. And it’s worth every penny. Im only allowed to give it a maximum 5* rating, and that’s just not a high enough rating."—SubtleSimon

“Walking in at 9p, it was easy to get a seat. Located in a iconic neighborhood, which was just cool to pass through, the inner atmosphere was neat. Great service, adjusted for any need. For an Indian restaurant that's upscale, it was interesting to try Indian-influenced oysters and regular pani puri and chicken biryani. Good drinks, nice music.. staff was really friendly.” — Amit D.
“Very creative and flavorful dishes. Good service. Nice ambiance. The team in the kitchen genuinely seemed to be enjoying being there, a good sign!” — A V.

“Great service and very accommodating to food allergies. We ordered the tasting menu and my group included people with no dietary restrictions, a vegetarian, a gluten intolerance and a dairy free diet. There were substitutes for everything. It really is unauthentic but everything was delicious And beautifully plated. Highly recommend the balls of glory and the ice cream dessert at the end. A great place to celebrate a birthday and jam to some good music” — Kimberly T.
“Food, cocktail and service are top notch!
Highly recommend the Don't Tell Aunty cocktail” — Louisa B.
“What a tasting menu - $55 for seven mega delicious courses. I would have loved to been there with a group of friends but even as a solo dinner on a weeknight work trip I loved the vibe. Great tunes. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.” — Jessica A.

“What a wonderful surprise and great Indian food!! We decided to eat there because of the ratings here on Yelp. It didn't look like much, just some local Indian eatery. The first time we went, couldn't even get in! So we made reservations for the following night. Oh my God, it was so much better than I expected. The food was wonderful. Some of the best Indian food I've eaten since I was in India 15 years ago. Also, if you have peanut allergies (like I do), there are many dishes they can make without the peanuts. And they're careful about cross contaminating dishes. I had absolutely no problem. The restaurant staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. If you eat dinner, I recommend making reservations. Lunch may well be the same way, so again, I recommend giving them a call. It is worth it. Wonderful food and a good staff in a small & delicious local Indian eatery.” — G. R.
“We stopped here for a quick dinner on my last night in Melbourne. It was cold and rainy outside. The restaurant was full of people and there were a couple of small tables outside. The place is not large but seems to use space efficiently.
The girl at the counter said we could sit outside or, if we wanted there was a table for two that we could have for 45 minutes inside. We sat inside, ordered quickly and we're served quickly as well. The food was really tasty and we finished in about 46 minutes, not really feeling rushed, but they definitely wanted the table back for the reservation.
We had the chaat platter and mixed grill... to get a sampling of their offerings in our limited time. The tandoori chicken was really excellent.
I suggest making a reservation. Also, my cell phone had just about zero reception once we hit the small alley where this place is located, so be aware if you're trying to meet someone there.” — Doug B.
“tasty Indian food but very small portions. I got the chicken tikka tandoori and there were only a couple small pieces of meat for $16. My friend had the bhel puri, samosa chaat, and mango lassi and enjoyed everything but found the food to be a little too spicy.” — Izzy W.

“Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had in my GD life. We came on international women's day and we're given a free glass of champagne to celebrate, the tasting menu we ordered included two apps, three curries, rice, yogurt sauce and a side of Nan each. The meal was ended with a refreshing homemade icecream pop Each and every component was delicious and uniquely flavorful. The service was some of the best I've ever had , such kind and caring staff. I would come back to Melbourne solely to eat here” — Ciara M.

“A fantastic little restaurant. Food is excellent, the menu is varied and interesting. The staff are warm and welcoming and the service is excellent. Last time I went I was accompanied by a very picky, whiney vegetarian and they were incredibly patient and accommodating.” — Kitty K.
“Husband is Sri Lankan so I've eaten my fair share of Sri Lankan food. This place is second to none. We had the hoppers - all delicious- with chicken curry, cashew curry, kothu roti and pol sambol. All were fantastic but the chicken curry was stand out. A little more expensive than your usual 'local' but worth the extra $ for the atmosphere and service - definitely somewhere you could spend a Saturday night. Will be back” — Ani K.
