We stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Centre-Ville to be close to McGill University. The location was within a few blocks and an easy walk to the main campus. Some of the restaurants on the street had closed due to Covid and had not reopened.  There were several noodle shops and a pizza place closer to the university. The hotel restaurant had breakfast service, dinner and bar service but no lunch. There was an area behind the reception desk where you could buy candy, chips and soft drinks. The woman who managed the breakfast service was from Switzerland and was a ray of sunshine in the morning. It was a pleasure to start our day there. The museums and restaurants nearby were downhill which made for a challenging climb back up to the hotel in the evening. The room was a corner room that had a view of the roof top and equipment. The room seemed dark. There was a lamp between the two queen beds, a lamp by the window near a chair, and a tiny lamp on the desk. There was an overhead lamp as you came in the door, but no overhead lights in the rest of the room. It felt like a cave. Room service was by request because of Covid restrictions. - R8929XNpamf
Rooms were spacious (double queen). Staff were polite and courteous. Great central location. We walked to McGill U (5 minutes), Old Montreal (20 minutes), and Schwartz deli was only 15 minute walk away. Secure access to elevators and hotel via room card. Relatively safe neighborhood. Swimming pool and jacuzzi open! - yorkie1552
Situated in downtown and within walking distance to Chinatown and other venues. The metro station is only a block away which makes it convenient to get around. There is usually a taxi ready to go, and the ride to the airport is $50 CAN - tlc248

The decor is new and fun, music 50s/60s but not obtrusive, there is a pleasant diner vibe, but
