I would love to be able able to say that the Clarendon Square is a home from home but, in truth, I could only dream of a home like this one! It is a wonderful place. Staying there felt more like being guests in someone’s beautiful home than customers in a soulless chain hotel. It’s a quintessentially Boston brownstone a short stroll from Back Bay station in a quiet street. You feel as if you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city but just a short stroll and you can access everything Boston has to  offer Our room was beautifully presented, the bed very comfortable, bathroom perfect and lots of space to relax in. It had everything we needed and there were nice touches like good quality coffee, rather than sachets, waffles when we arrive and a fully stocked mini bar that doesn’t buzz all night and keep you awake (it’s a particular bugbear of mine and I’ve turned off several over the years). The neighbourhood has lots of great places to eat and drink and the website Provided some great recommendations. We liked the breakfasts at Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe which is just around the corner. Getting to the historic areas of Boston is a lovely stroll (or in our case, run!) along Commonwealth Avenue and through the parks or along the Espanade but you also get around easily by public transport. Both routes were lovely and added to to our enjoyment of visiting the city. We didn’t have time to use it but there is a hot tub on the roof. The views were amazing from there but we just ran out of time - next time we’all prioritise that. All in all, our expectations were fully met and I would was certainly recommend The Clarendon to anyone visiting Boston. - Groucho58
Just returned from a weekend in Boston after visiting my son, who recently moved to the area.  I stayed at The Clarendon Square B&B, and it was the best!  The location, right on the cusp of Back Bay and the South End, was perfect.  Within walking distance of most everything. Upon arrival, the entrance was exactly as pictured, so there was no confusion as to how to enter. Stephen was very thorough with the keyless entry points.  I hadn't used the app that he requested I download ahead of time, and it was quite seamless.  So easy to use and saved having to carry a key around, although one was available, should I prefer.  The main floor was quite something.  It was quite apparent that a lot of love (and money) had been put into the renovation.  Just beautiful!  I requested a higher floor and was given a room on the fourth floor.  There was no elevator, so my son carried my luggage up to the top floor, however, Stephen would've been more than willing had my son not been there.  Once my luggage was in my room, Stephen showed us the rooftop with a hot tub.  It was amazing. Wished I had taken my swimsuit.  I contemplated going back up there one night after I got back from dinner but never did.  I bet at night, with the lights of the city shining bright, the view is fantastic!  The room was outstanding.  The bathroom had been recently renovated and was laid out nicely.  The body products smelled delish! The room was quite spacious, and it had a pour over coffee service, as well as a high end selection of teas.  Because the breakfast portion of the program had not been reintroduced due to Covid, the room included oatmeal and waffles that were quite tasty.  There was a fridge stocked with various beers, wine and champagne for purchase as well.  Bananas and cookies were also always available in the shared space.  The only negative, which I hate to even say since everything else was so perfect, was that the A/C was central and not in each room.  I believe it was set at 69 or 70 degrees, which is great during the day, but is much too warm for me at night.  I tend to sleep in a room that is closer to 62-64 degrees.  Thankfully, there was a ceiling fan in the sitting area of the room, so that was helpful.  I would highly recommend staying at the Clarendon Square B&B, just a great experience. - DNSarg
The Inn was very comfy. We were doing an overnight without kids in our own city, and this place was a treat. The neighborhood was beautiful.  We loved the suite and it's giant tub. The room was cozy and comfortable. The Manager greeted us and made us tea . We were too cold to do the roof top tub (it was February) but the view of the ciry was worth being cold. We had a pleasant walk to one of the restaurants the Inn's website recommended (which was also fantastic).  - 165bridgets
