8 restaurants for breakfast you should try in Madrid.

1. Chocolatería San Ginés

The bar has a nostalgic atmosphere, recalling the cafes of the late nineteenth century. It has two floors, each furnished with traditional white marble tables. At the tile-covered counter, visitors can have chocolate with churros, any other soft drink or coffee accompanied by pastries in the traditional way. Its opening until the wee hours of the morning makes it possible for people to gather for breakfast of different types.

"An institution in Madrid, at San Gines you get to eat amazing chocolate and churros and because it has been operating since 1894, the atmosphere of a classic cafe is fabulous. The chocolate is not too bitter. My tip is you wait a few minutes before eating so it cools/thickens just a little and clings to the churro better. A child of mine said you need maximum chocolate adhesion. (Science word of the day)"Hart P.
"Chocolate con churros are definitely a treat though because they're very heavy and have a certain taste to them that lingers in your mouth for a while, but it's definitely worth it if you're ever in Madrid. Definitely recommend coming with friends so you guys can share!"Jenny T.
"You simply cannot visit Madrid and not stop in at San Gines. This is the perfect place for that mid afternoon snack when you want to rest your legs and enjoy something sweet. My go-to is always the "churros con chocolate," that is a mug of thick chocolate and churros."Patricia G.
